Ranger-guided tours of the major cliff dwellings typically run from late spring into October, with the exact opening and closing dates set each year by staffing and conditions. Tickets are sold through Recreation.gov on a rolling release and popular time slots go quickly, so check the current-year rules and release dates before you lock in flights. If you arrive in November through April, you can still drive to overlooks and photograph Cliff Palace from above, but you will not get inside a dwelling.
Long House on Wetherill Mesa is the other consideration. The Wetherill Mesa Road is seasonal and generally opens later in spring and closes earlier in fall than the main Chapin Mesa route, so a shoulder-season trip built around Long House needs tighter date checking than one built around Cliff Palace.
